Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
This policy applies to everyone who uses Shotvik: the API, the account dashboard and this website. It is part of the Beta terms. Full terms will follow.
What you may not do
You may not use Shotvik for any of the following, or to help anyone else do it:
- Illegal content, or anything else that breaks the law.
- Phishing, such as imitating login pages or collecting passwords or payment details.
- Malware: creating, hosting or spreading malware, or supporting malware campaigns.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) of any kind.
- Scraping against a site’s terms: rendering or scraping websites whose terms of service prohibit it. You are responsible for having the right to render the pages you send us.
- Evading site protections: getting around captchas, bot detection, logins, paywalls or blocks, including blocks of ShotvikBot.
- Circumventing our limits: getting around rate limits, quotas or blocks, for example by spreading requests over several accounts or keys.
- Multiple accounts: more than one free account per person.
- Attacks: overloading or attacking Shotvik or other systems, or trying to reach internal networks through the renderer.
ShotvikBot identifies itself
Every request a render makes carries ShotvikBot in its User-Agent, and customers can’t remove or change it. There is no stealth mode, no captcha solving and no proxies. If a site blocks Shotvik, that is the site’s choice: don’t try to work around it. Site owners can read more on the ShotvikBot page.
What we do about abuse
- We refuse URLs that are on a public phishing list or on our own blocklist.
- We may suspend or remove an account or content that breaches these terms or the AUP. We tell you the reason, unless the law prevents it, and you can respond via support@shotvik.com; a human reviews before a permanent ban.
- In urgent cases, such as ongoing abuse or a security risk, we may block access immediately; the reason and the human review still apply.
Reporting abuse
Email abuse@shotvik.com and include:
- the Shotvik image link, or the time (with time zone) and the affected URL(s) on your site;
- what happened, or why you think it breaks this policy;
- how we can reach you.
Full terms will follow.
